My name is Roberto Boniotti and the mountains are my life. For over 40 years, I have been exploring peaks, valleys, and trails, turning my passion into a profession that combines technical expertise, safety, and respect for nature.
My parents passed on their passion for the mountains to me from a very young age. From my first walks in the woods with my parents, I gradually began to explore the areas I encountered and to look up at the sky, toward those mountains that seemed unreachable. And with each new summit reached, new horizons and mountains to discover and explore gradually opened up.
With friends, I started attending Italian Alpine Club courses in mountaineering, ski mountaineering, and rock climbing, and eventually, the mountains became my world—discovered and yet to be discovered in all their aspects.
After many years of life experience in the mountains and having led students through the Alps as a mountaineering and ski mountaineering instructor—training them from a technical, cultural, and human perspective—I earned my Mountain Leader certification in 2021 to turn my passion into a job and share my experiences with those who want to enjoy the pleasure of the mountains with me.

Professional experience
Instructor since 1990 at the Adamello Mountaineering School of the Italian Alpine Club, Brescia section.
For decades, I have regularly practiced ski mountaineering, mountaineering, rock climbing, and single or multi-day trekking. Mountaineering ascents in the Alps, North America, and South America.
Since 2021, I have been guiding groups for treks of all levels in the Alps, from day hikes to week-long hut-to-hut treks.
During the winter season, I lead groups and families on snowshoe excursions.
I operate in all Alpine regions, but I have a deep knowledge of the Dolomites and the areas around Lake Garda, as well as Lake Maggiore and Lake Como.
I collaborate with the Valle Sabbia Mountain Community to guide visits to the Napoleonic Fortress of Anfo, especially for school groups.
I work with the Carnic Alps Mountain Hut network, guiding groups on the Carnic Alps Traverse.
I collaborate with a trekking company in Nepal to organize treks in the Himalayan region.
I work with the Don Bosco Guides School in Marcará to organize treks in the Peruvian Andes.
Philosophy and guiding style
The philosophy guiding my style is based first and foremost on respect for the environments we cross and a natural approach to human-environment interaction. This attitude is reflected in the way the group members interact with one another. My proposals include itineraries tailored to specific needs: from more demanding routes for those with good physical fitness ready to tackle tougher paths in lesser-known areas for full immersion in nature, to simpler routes for those who are fit but want to enjoy unique scenery and a genuine experience, all the way to paths suitable for everyone, where no special physical preparation is required but nature can be enjoyed by combining natural attractions with historical, cultural, or naturalistic interests.
Technical skills
Thanks to decades of experience, the tools and training provided by my Lombardy Alpine Guide Association certification, and my endless curiosity about the natural, cultural, and historical environment, I have a wealth of technical skills (group management, hiking techniques, rescue techniques), naturalistic knowledge (botany, zoology, geology, environmental protection), and historical knowledge (related to the areas we visit).
Organizational and logistical skills
In addition to specific hiking skills, I have specialized expertise in excursions in snowy environments.
Types of routes offered
I offer routes categorized by difficulty level: from simple paths under 10 km with elevation gains up to 300 m, to more demanding routes up to 20 km and 1,600 m of elevation gain on terrain for expert hikers. The proposed routes can range from day trips around Lake Garda, the Brenta Dolomites, or the southern valleys of the Adamello group, to two-three day or longer treks in the Dolomites or other Alpine mountain groups. Upon request, I can organize customized treks for groups interested in exploring a specific area.Time of year and seasonal specialization
Safety
The priority is always the safety and well-being of the people I guide, and the group is always managed with this in mind. As a Mountain Leader, I carry third-party liability insurance. For those who request it, personal daily insurance can be arranged at a low cost. The required equipment varies depending on the type of itinerary and will be specified in each individual route description.
Who the routes are for
