The itinerary starts from Mezzolago, heading up the shady Val Droma\u00e9, a cool and silent valley that gradually opens up as you climb toward the pass of the same name. From here, your gaze rests on Cima Oro, so named for the golden reflections that illuminate it in the early morning hours, when the sun lights up the rocks with a warm, precious glow. <\/p>\n\n
Once at the summit, the panorama opens into a full embrace of the Val di Ledro and its lake, suspended between woods and mountains. But it’s the descent that offers the most intense emotion: the Austro-Hungarian trail runs along a ridge dotted with trenches, tunnels, and Great War outposts. These military works of the Austro-Hungarian army, now restored and made safe, allow you to literally walk through history, amidst panoramic views and evidence of a past that is still palpable. <\/p>\n\n
